Panini Comics Unveils Its 2025 Marvel Editorial Plan

New Formats and Classic Heroes

Panini is revamping the publication formats for several beloved Marvel titles. Veteran series like Captain America and Iron Man are transitioning to the quarterly comic-book format with a spine, while flagship series will maintain their traditional monthly release schedule.

The Fantastic Four will take center stage in 2025, with numerous releases celebrating Marvel’s “First Family.” A major event, Blood Hunt, will shake the Marvel Universe, culminating in the saga A World Under Death, which sees the rise of one of the worst villains in Marvel history.

Events to Watch

  1. Venom War
Symbiotes are taking the spotlight with Venom War, a storyline that promises monumental changes for Eddie Brock and his allies. A new host will take on the symbiote, marking a bold new direction for the Lethal Protector.
  2. Mutant Relaunch
The relaunch of the X-Men continues, with satellite series adopting a quarterly format. Mutant miniseries and event-related tie-ins will be made available in Panini’s most affordable formats, making them accessible to a broader audience.

Timeless Marvel Material

Panini continues its commitment to classic and timeless Marvel content with:

  • Marvel Premiere: Monthly releases will now include the remaining Conan series from Marvel’s second run, Doctor Strange‘s post-death cycle, Ryan North’s Fantastic Four, and Zeb Wells’s Amazing Spider-Man.
  • Ultimate Invasion: Arriving this December, this series introduces a new era for the Ultimate line.
  • Marvel Saga TPB: The Marvel Saga Hardcover format will conclude, replaced by Marvel Saga TPB, with new entries like Ed Brubaker’s Captain America and Old Man Logan joining the lineup.

Spotlight on Classic Lines

Panini is refining its two longest-running classic collections, Marvel Gold and Marvel Heroes, alternating between six releases each annually.

  • Marvel Gold: Notable releases include The Impossible X-Patrol 12, concluding Chris Claremont’s legendary run.
  • Marvel Heroes: Highlights include Denny O’Neil’s Daredevil Vol. 1, the first in a series that will eventually collect Ann Nocenti’s Daredevil run and other notable arcs.

Expanding the Marvel Library

The Marvel Library series continues strong, releasing three volumes each month. As the collection nears the end of the 1960s, readers can look forward to experiencing the golden age of Marvel with comprehensive reprints.

Meanwhile, the Conan Library moves to a bimonthly release schedule, but will still amass over 100 US issues throughout the year.

New Beginnings

Panini is also introducing fresh content, with the conclusion of Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. paving the way for the launch of Silver Terrier, a new series that promises to capture fans’ attention.

Looking Ahead

With its diverse lineup of events, revamped formats, and timeless collections, Panini’s 2025 Marvel Editorial Plan promises to be a year of excitement for Marvel fans. From thrilling new events like Venom War and Blood Hunt to the continued celebration of classics, there’s something for everyone in the ever-expanding Marvel Universe.
